Street league is a skateboard competition on live tv that features the best skateboarders on the planet. Street league is the equivalent to a professional baseball or hockey game to skateboarders. Street league also features stops where they stop in different areas to bring the event to. It's mostly in America with stops like New Jersey, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Street league has also started making stops as far as Barcelona. There is around 3 stops and a championship. Skaters earn tickets to the supercrown championship by winning the other stops and the top 8 go into the championship for a chance at more money of 200 000$. They start with the qualifiers and eliminate down to the last 8 skaters as the top 8 to compete head to head for the chance to win 100 000$ with smaller winnings for second and third place. The winners also win trophies for third second and first place with the second and third being silver and the first being gold. They also win a very expensive ring and watch for first place. Rob dyrdek is the founder of street league and provides the funds needed for the event and is in charge of the entire thing. Many of the same pros appear in the events finals such as nyjah Huston, Paul Rodriguez, Luan oliveira and more. With nyjah being the first in history to have a season sweep by winning every stop including the pro open.

Street skating seems to be more common because it can be practiced anywhere or in parks. the xgames is a annual sporting event founded in 1995 features many extreme sports such as skateboarding bmx and more. It also features different styles like street skateboarding or vert and also vert or street bmx. Contestants win bronze silver or gold medals for competing well. And can also win prize money for placements. For skateboarding the most dominant person is Nyjah Huston with 4 of the last 6 xgames skateboard street gold medals and has 8 in total.

Ryan Sheckler is a american skateboarder and entrepreneur. Ryan was born on december 30th 1989 and is from San Clamente California. Ryan began skateboarding when he discovered his dads skateboard at the age of two and has been skateboarding ever since. He was in many contests and was getting more noticed and more sponsors. He started gaining so much popularity that he had a reality show called life of Ryan. With this he grew a lot of fame and become more than just a professional skateboarder. Ryan learned to skateboard at the San Clamente Skatepark in California. Ryan was there for the opening of the skatepark.
Ryan was sponsored by etnies at a young age and has been ever since then. Ryan is the creater of Hartlines, the skateboard contest in Detroit Michigan. He designed the contest in his mind and made his vision a reality. Ryan also has the Sheckler foundation which was created to assist children and recovering athletes. It holds charty events such as skate for a cause. Ryan has also appeared in many video games such as the Tony Hawk series. Ryan Sheckler is ne of the most popular skateboarders in the world and has become much more then that and very successful.

Hartlines

Heart lines is a new skateboard contest that started in 2015 and was created by Ryan Sheckler and was the first year and the first time to have the style of contest. It took place in detroit michigan at hart plaza. It is a very unique style of contest because it is a contest that features scoring based on time. Also the contest is a start to finish contest that makes the skaters focus on doing a line. A line in skateboarding is doing different tricks in a row without falling. Can be done on obsticles and down stairs on rails etc. usually 3 to 5 tricks and is normally filmed. Each skater choses their lines and tries to do them as well as they can for the contest. Each skater gets three attempts. There is three lanes in the hart plaza built with different obsticals in them. The winner won 30 000 $ and a dodge challenger. The contest was great and i was there and was a great experience.

BATB 8

BATB8 stands for battle at the berrics. Battle at the berrics is a skateboarding competition that tests peoples skills with flat ground skateboarding. It is a flat ground skate contest. It has professionals go head to head against other professionals. It is organized as a tournament with each name on the board showing who goes against who, and gets names added to the board of the winner between two people. Everybody gets eliminated when they lose. It goes until all but two are eliminated. Afterwards the two left go head to head for the winner to win prize money and a trophy. This is held every year and started about 8 years ago. It is held at the berrics which is a private indoor skate park owned by Eric Koston and Steve Berra. And has many professionals use it and requires to be allowed in. This contest allows people who are not very known to also get a chance to show what they can do and had a pros vs joes where the professionals had gone against non professionals. It is a great way for someone to start their skate career and could get them started with the money and getting known as a skateboarder.
